What can I expect at my child's first dance class?

For many parents, a first dance class can be a wonderful and exciting experience for both you and your child. You begin to see your young dancer express his or herself in ways that are beautiful and endearing. It can also leave you feeling a bit uneasy. If you have never experienced a dance class yourself, maybe you are unsure what you should be watching for. How can you know that your dancer is getting accurate instruction as well as being encouraged in an atmosphere with realistic expectations?

At the Loveland Dance Academy you can expect to see:

  • Our instructors will encourage each dancers’ involvement, but never force it
  • Individual goals for all students, depending on each dancer’s previous experience, age, work ethic and ability
  • A unified curriculum, as well as individual creative touches each instructor brings to his or her class.
  • Lots of smiles, hugs and “high fives”
  • Appropriate music and dress codes
  • Accurate technique and high expectations for each student
